I called her Granny, some called her Fae, my mother called her Mama, some called her Aunt Fae but my Papa LC, her husband, called her Madam Queen. I don't quite know exactly where Papa came up with the name Madam Queen but I'd like to think it's because he worshiped the ground she walked on (according to my mama). I know that Papa loved my Granny more than life itself and it showed. Madam Queen was an excellent name for her because Granny was in fact THE Queen in our family in every sense of the word but ESPECIALLY in the kitchen. If anyone ever made a request for something or she even
heard you mention how much you liked a certain dish, you can bet that it would be served at the very next meal she made! Every one knew that if you went to Madam Queen’s house she would always have a hot meal
ready and waiting. And if it wasn’t? She’d be up, sometimes before the sun, at the grocery store or in the garden getting whatever she needed to make sure anyone who stepped foot in her kitchen was fed. Good food was her love language and Madam Queen is the inspiration behind this and so many other of my life endeavors.
My name is Kyra and I am an attorney by day and a baker, gardener, and world traveler by night and on the weekends :).
I am happily married to my wonderful husband Wiggles (that is my nickname for him) and we have a small dog named Bandit.
I started this home bakery and blog because of my love for cooking and baking. I occasionally create cooking and gardening content on Instagram
and TikTok under the username @mrsbougiefoodie (feel free to follow
me on all platforms under that name). My Granny Fae-Fae showed her love for everyone in a multitude of ways but I found that I felt her love even more in her cooking. I now find myself pouring my love into the foods I make, just like her. I hope whenever you order a baked good or try a recipe, that you'll be able to taste the love in every bite just like I did.
